A party was given by Catherine and Michael Devine for Gov. M. Jodi Rell on Thursday, July 20.
At the party the Governor mentioned that she is not taking any PAC money while her
opponents are. She relies on parties like this. It was also noted how important it is to elect
Republicans to the state legislature where the Democrats hold 24 of the 36 Senate seats
and 99 of 151 House seats. If the Democrats end up with a 2/3 majority in both houses
they will be able to over ride vetoes by the Governor and there will be no control over spending.
